Illustration Friday: Match

Archduke Brand Matches

It wasn't what I had originally pictured and it ended up being more of my collage style then what I was going for, but I'm happy with it.

I tried to find a box of matches this morning. I thought I might try something out with them...but I went to about 5 different convenience stores. Boxes. Not books. Why are artists so picky?

So here it is. Sans real matches.

What a story! I don't think it was too terribly rude. I guess it depends on how you said it. You'd be surprised how often one gets stuck behind a register without knowing what's what and how much it is.

Your collage is beautifully dark. It reminds me of something that's very Victorian. Good job.

Collages that change as you are working on them are the best! In my opinion that is one difference between an intuitive art piece and a commercial art piece; intutive art seems to be a journey that changes at every step - commercial art seems to be a concept that is carried out perfectly without changing from beginning to end. It will be interesting to see what others think.

This would make a good animation.

But....
Commercial Art deals constraints upfront, where as Intuitive Art deals with constraints unknowingly.
