Illustration Friday: Run

I've stayed at work late tonight so that a) I could get a free ride home after finishing up some much needed work to do and b) I could work on this guy since I don't have a tablet at home. Let's see if it was worth it. My eyes are popping out of my head...I need to stop staring at the computer!

More photos to occupy my time and this space. Hopefully I'll get the illustration up tomorrow. I feel bogged down by this short. It's very upsetting. I feel like something that was so much fun has become this burden with a time limit. So much discussion and deliberating about the script. I want to take some time off. I want to look at something fresh.

This is me bored on a Monday night. I've worked on my script for the feature and now I have Match Point playing in the background while I do some studies for the Illustration Friday assignment, Run.

I'm having trouble drawing. I don't know if it's the pencil or the paper or me making up excuses. So I thought I'd play around in Photoshop. This is one of my photos from Greece from a couple of years ago. I'd like a nice tropical vacation right now. Mmm tropical...

Illustration Friday: Match

Archduke Brand Matches

It wasn't what I had originally pictured and it ended up being more of my collage style then what I was going for, but I'm happy with it.

I tried to find a box of matches this morning. I thought I might try something out with them...but I went to about 5 different convenience stores. Boxes. Not books. Why are artists so picky?

So here it is. Sans real matches.

So Warren sent me a pretty creepy version of Tweedle Dee by Cactus Pryor, with Ralph Kies and his Piano and I think that's cured me of my unhealthy obsession. It's from a website called Ubu's 365 Day Project. Here's the link:

It's got some crazy stuff on there. You should check it out.

I want to bottle the sound of LaVern Baker's Tweedle Dee. It would rock my world to have that song as my theme song. Of course, after a while it would probably just make me want to punch LaVern in the face, so maybe I shouldn't commit to it too soon...

Illustration Friday: Play

This is a study I did for a painting assignment. But I think I like this one better then how the end product turned out. I don't have oodles of time now, but I wanted to keep posting for IF. I was going to go and touch it up a bit in Photoshop, but I don't know enough about the program yet to do it without it looking artificial. So here it is. Sorry it's reuse!
